Welcome to FLYTELOG! This guide will help you get started with your digital flight logbook. Whether you're a new pilot or migrating from another system, we'll walk you through the essential steps to get up and running.

Creating Your Account

Getting started is simple:

  1. Visit app.flytelog.io/auth/register
  2. Enter your email address and create a secure password
  3. Verify your email address (check your inbox for a confirmation link)
  4. Log in to your new account

Setting Up Your Profile

Once you're logged in, take a moment to complete your profile:

  • Personal Information: Add your name and contact details
  • Pilot Information: Enter your license details and ratings
  • Preferences: Set your preferred units (metric/imperial) and timezone

Adding Your First Aircraft

Before logging flights, you'll want to add the aircraft you fly:

  1. Navigate to the Aircraft section from the main menu
  2. Click New Aircraft
  3. Enter the aircraft registration (e.g., G-ABCD)
  4. Select the aircraft type from the dropdown or add a new one
  5. Optionally add notes or additional details
  6. Click Save

Logging Your First Flight

Now you're ready to log your first flight:

  1. Click New Flight from the dashboard or flights list
  2. Enter the flight date
  3. Select the aircraft from your list
  4. Enter departure and arrival airports (ICAO codes)
  5. Add departure and arrival times
  6. Enter flight time, PIC time, and SIC time as applicable
  7. Add any additional details like conditions, remarks, or photos
  8. Click Save to record your flight

Quick Tips

  • GPX Import: If you use SkyDemon, Garmin Pilot, or ForeFlight, you can email your GPX file to flights@flytelog.io and your flight will be automatically created!
  • Currency Tracking: FLYTELOG automatically tracks your currency requirements. Check the dashboard to see your current status.
  • Export Data: Regularly export your logbook to PDF or CSV for backup. Find this option in the flights list.
  • Mobile Access: FLYTELOG works great on mobile devices. Bookmark the app on your phone for easy access at the airport.
